About This Work
Created approximately ten years ago by Tessō Mori, this sculpted head of Kōmokuten was inspired by the National Treasure guardian figure of Tōdai-ji's Kaidan-in Hall, Nara.
One of two known Kōmokuten sculpted heads created by Tessō Mori.
Natural variations, patina, and age-related discoloration reflect the passage of time and the unique character of this original hand-carved work.
